Please help before kitty left with 3 legs

This article was taken from http://maovellous.wordpress.com/.

2 weeks ago, a community cat outside my friend’s shop was found with a dangling hind leg. Likely reason is the leg was ran over by car/motorcycle while it was sleeping in the carpark or abused by ppl. The male black cat is estimated to be 4 years old.
Due to budget constraint, my friend brought him to SPCA for consultation. As SPCA has limited facilities, the vet can only bandage the broken leg, no XRay or casting done. SPCA will continue treatment (by bandaging) on condition that he must house the cat during this period of time.

The chances of bone joining by bandaging is slim and the vet said surgery is the best option and surgery alone estimated $600 to $1000. If include the pre-opt/post-opt consultations, a minimum of $1000 is required.
The cat is in his shop now. Yesterday I have gone there to take some pictures and video (http://s59.photobucket.com/albums/g289/Lynx6119/?action=view&current=DSCF0933.flv) . See attached. The bandage was removed earlier bcoz it was swollen. My friend put a tag on him just in case he runs out of the shop and get missing. A very tame and friendly cat. From what I observed, the chance of recovery is pretty high if the surgery is done asap. My friend has been in animal rescue work for years. On his way home from work every night, he will drive to carparks to feed the stray cats (100 to 200 cats), pick up unsterilised cats to sterilise and at times pick up injured cats/dogs. Majority of the cats at my place are sterilised by him and he is not a resident here! That is how I get to know him 2 years ago as he always parked his ‘cat food loaded’ car near my flat

As he is spending a substantial amt of money monthly on strays, he cannot afford to send this cat for surgery. The only option for him and the cat now is to let the SPCA vets do whatever they can but the recovery is very slim if no surgery done.

I hereby would like to seek your kind help to make a monetary contribution for this poor cat. No amount is too small.

For kind ppl that has donated I will scan and forward the vet receipts by email and update the total donation collected for accountability. As the cat has not seen any private vet yet, I would have to collect the donation on behalf. If we are able to collect some money to send the cat for his 1st consult and XRay with a vet specialised in bone surgery, I will arrange the donors to give to the clinic direct.

Please help to circulate the email and feel free to contact me-Ling Wong (Lynx6119@yahoo.com.sg) if you have any enquiry or wish to make a donation.
